Can’t get much better than that for a holiday fight scene. While this is admittedly one of my least favorite Christmas movies, this is an amazing scene. Arnold was one of my main childhood heroes and he had fully jumped the shark at this point, so maybe that’s why I’ve always been salty towards this film, but somewhere out there this is someones favorite holiday movie and this blog post is for you. What holiday movie list would be complete without my favorite Christmas movie of all time!? Some people debate Die Hard’s status as a Christmas movie…those people have ZERO Christmas spirit. It’s an all-time classic, and so is the fight scene between John McClane and Karl. McClane’s cut up feet, Karl’s flowing locks and German accent, and let us not overlook the treasure trove of awesome one-liners. There’s just so much cheesy action movie awesomeness here. And yes, Lethal Weapon IS a holiday movie! And it’s one of my childhood favorites. I haven’t watched it in a long time, and it wasn’t until I watched it when I was older that I realized how bad the main fight scene was. Bad in a good way. The choreography is pretty terrible, but what do you expect from cheesy 90’s action movies? The one saving grace is a half-way decent triangle choke at the very end of the fight, applied by Mel Gibson, who trained with the Gracie’s in preparation for the scene.
