Welcome to the first installment of Fight Scene Of The Week! This scene is from the Korean film, Old Boy. There are a few fight sequences in the film but this is my favorite! Whats great about it? For starters, it's one continuous shot in a confined space with almost no editing. I believe the only editing is a knife to the back. The choreography isn't the fanciest or cleanest but it does a great job of capturing a raw vibe, and the use of a hammer as the main characters weapon of choice is pretty neat.
The movie itself has a pretty messed up story line, so be warned if you decide to watch the whole thing. There's also a US remake staring Josh Brolin that isn't terrible, but I prefer the original.
